Agus has extensive experience handling various legal matters throughout his career as an Advocate. His representative portfolio includes, among others:
- Assisting clients in structuring and executing Sharia-based transactions, including lease–purchase agreements of land and buildings under the al-Ijarah al-Muntahiyah bit Tamlik contract, based on the Syafi’i school of thought (referring to Wahbah al-Zuhaili’s al-Mu’amalat al-Maliyah al-Mu’asirah). Agus was responsible for drafting contractual documents between the client and the counterparty, which was a socio-religious foundation financially affiliated with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, with a transaction value of approximately IDR 50,000,000,000.
- Assisting and representing clients in resolving legal issues related to family law, including divorce, joint property disputes, child custody (hadhanah), alimony, marriage financial obligations, Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements, adoption (tabanni), heir determination, inheritance distribution, will drafting, grant arrangements, and estate management for missing heirs (mafqud). Agus has handled more than 20 cases in this field and the number continues to grow.
- Advising a major Conventional General Insurance Company in Indonesia on the preparation of its Syariah Business Unit Spin-off, in accordance with OJK Regulation No. 59/POJK.03/2020 on the Requirements and Procedures for Spin-Off of Sharia Business Units, as partially amended by OJK Regulation No. 12 of 2023.
- Representing a client holding an IUP-OP (Production Operation Mining License) for Nickel commodities in responding to a Tort Lawsuit related to Environmental Damage filed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, with an alleged environmental loss of approximately IDR 50,000,000,000. The case was successfully won with a ruling of “Lawsuit Declared Inadmissible (Niet Ontvankelijke Verklaard)”.
- Assisting clients in Intellectual Property registration, with involvement in more than 50 IP filings including trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, and international trademarks. Notable cases include:
- a. Copyright registration for educational coaching videos of a reputable IT training institution awarded the ECC Global Award at the Directorate General of Intellectual Property.
- b. International trademark registration at WIPO for a client engaged in the production of racing spare parts.
