Arie obtained his Master of Laws degree from Universitas Indonesia. Prior to joining Margono—Ismawan & Co., Arie previously worked in several top law firms in Indonesia and also served as part of the in-house legal team of a leading hospital in Indonesia.

Advising clients in formulating corporate rescue plans for several Domestic Investment (PMDN) and Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) companies in Indonesia affected by COVID-19, including efficiency measures, Dormant Company structuring (through applications for non-effective taxpayer status to the Directorate General of Taxes under Regulation No. PER-04/PJ/2020), liquidation, and/or corporate actions in the form of mergers and acquisitions to strengthen capital structure. These included:
    a. Corporate efficiency for a Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) textile (garment) manufacturing company licensed to produce Puma, Adidas, Nike, and Lacoste, through gradual reduction of benefits, facilities and wages, reduction of overtime working hours, employee downsizing (termination of employment), and relocation to a bonded zone in a province with a lower provincial minimum wage (UMP).
    b. Dormant Company management and granting of Non-Effective Taxpayer status for a Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) company licensed to sell household and body care products of a multinational corporation.
    c. Mergers and acquisitions of multiple PMA companies licensed to sell consumer household and body care products of a multinational corporation.
    d. Liquidation of a PMA company operating in Local Fixed Network with Cable Basis & Packet Switched telecommunications services.
  2. Assisting a Poland-based mining company in making direct investment in Indonesia through equity participation in nickel and limestone mining companies, with direct investment value of approximately USD 1,000,000.
  3. Assisting a major Indonesian bus chassis dealership company in drafting, negotiating, and executing Joint Operation Agreements (KSO) with project tender winners for bus procurement, driver management, maintenance, and insurance using the Buy the Service (BTS) scheme by several regional governments.
  4. Representing one of the largest conventional general insurance companies in Indonesia in an Ad-Hoc Arbitration relating to a Construction Erection All Risks and Erection All Risks Insurance property claim dispute filed by a national construction and multidisciplinary engineering corporation specializing in power plant infrastructure projects, with claim value of approximately Rp 20,000,000,000 (twenty billion rupiah).
  5. Assisting clients in Legal Due Diligence (LDD) and Financial Due Diligence (FDD) in collaboration with Public Accounting Firms (KAP) and Public Appraisal Firms (KJPP) in various mergers & acquisitions and other strategic partnerships. Arie has been involved in more than twenty-five (25) LDD and FDD processes.
  6. Representing a Foreign Direct Investment telecommunications company in Indonesia — a subsidiary of a Japanese cellular telecommunications corporation — in filing a breach of contract lawsuit against several Indonesian Internet Service Provider (ISP) companies, with granted compensation of approximately Rp 3,000,000,000 (three billion rupiah).
